Welcome to the Anakin ecosystem. These Master Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of all products and services operated by The Anakin Group (“Anakin”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including AnakinPay, Anakin Network, AnakinID, and the Anakin Credits system.
By creating an account, accessing any Anakin product, or using any feature of our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
These Terms should be read alongside any product-specific terms that apply to individual services you use. Where a product-specific term conflicts with these Master Terms, the product-specific term will apply to that product only.
The Anakin Group is a technology company incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with its principal place of business in Abuja, Nigeria. We operate a closed-loop financial and commerce ecosystem designed to serve individuals, households, and businesses across Africa.
The Anakin ecosystem comprises the following entities and services:
To use Anakin services, you must meet all of the following conditions:
Anakin reserves the right to decline registration or suspend access to any user who does not meet these requirements or who provides false information. Where a minor is using the platform, the parent or guardian is jointly responsible for ensuring compliance with these Terms and is the contracting party on the minor’s behalf.
To access Anakin services, you must create an account. During registration, you will be required to provide your name, a valid phone number, and complete identity verification through AnakinID. Your account is personal to you and may not be shared with or transferred to another person.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password, PIN, or authentication details with any third party. Anakin will never ask for your password. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
Access to certain features of the Anakin ecosystem is governed by your membership tier. Tier progression is based on account age and transaction behaviour, and each tier unlocks specific products and capabilities. Full details of tier requirements and benefits are set out in the Membership Tier Addendum.
AnakinPay operates as a closed-loop internal ledger system. When you fund your Anakin wallet, fiat currency enters the ecosystem and is credited to your wallet balance. All transactions within the ecosystem — including purchases, transfers between Anakin users, and Credits redemptions — are processed as internal ledger movements and do not constitute the transmission of funds between external parties.
Fiat currency moves in two circumstances only:
Your wallet balance does not earn interest. Anakin does not guarantee any particular level of service availability and is not responsible for losses arising from system downtime beyond our reasonable control.
Wallet balances are not bank deposits and are not covered by the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) scheme. You should not store funds in your Anakin wallet beyond what you intend to use within the ecosystem.
Anakin Credits are a proprietary discount instrument issued by the Anakin Credits Bureau. Credits are not money, are not a deposit, and do not constitute a payment instrument or legal tender under any applicable law.
When applied at checkout, Anakin Credits reduce the fiat amount payable by you for that transaction. You always pay with fiat currency; Credits function as a discount applied against the total amount owed. A transaction may be discounted in full or in part depending on your available Credits balance.

Anakin reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently terminate any account that engages in prohibited conduct, and to report such conduct to relevant authorities where required by law.
All content, software, branding, design elements, and materials associated with the Anakin ecosystem — including but not limited to the Anakin name, logo, product names, and platform interfaces — are the exclusive intellectual property of The Anakin Group or its licensors.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property without our prior written consent. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any Anakin content for any purpose other than your personal, non-commercial use of our services.
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. It also explains your rights in relation to your data and how to exercise them.
By using Anakin services, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and should be read alongside them.
Where you use AnakinID for identity verification, additional data processing terms apply and are set out in the AnakinID Terms.
Anakin may charge fees for certain services within the ecosystem. Where fees apply, they will be disclosed to you clearly before you complete a transaction or activate a service. By proceeding, you authorise the deduction of applicable fees from your wallet balance.
Anakin reserves the right to introduce, change, or remove fees with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the relevant service after notice constitutes your acceptance of the updated fee structure.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Anakin Group, its directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for:
Where liability cannot be fully excluded under Nigerian law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising in connection with these Terms or our services will not exceed the total amount transacted through your Anakin account in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Anakin services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, fitness for purpose, or uninterrupted availability of any service within the ecosystem.
Anakin operates as the merchant of record for all transactions completed within the Anakin ecosystem. This means that your commercial relationship for any purchase made through the Anakin platform is with Anakin, not with the individual merchant at whose point of sale the transaction occurs. All disputes, refund requests, and claims arising from transactions within the ecosystem must be directed to Anakin through our official support channels. Anakin will investigate and resolve all such claims in accordance with these Terms and applicable Nigerian consumer protection law. Individual merchants participate in the Anakin Network as operational nodes and are not counterparties to the transaction between you and Anakin.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if:
You may close your Anakin account at any time by contacting us through the app or our official support channels. Prior to closure, any outstanding Credits Advance balance must be fully recouped, and any remaining wallet balance will be returned to you via your registered payment method, less any applicable fees.
Upon termination, your access to all Anakin services will cease. Any unused Anakin Credits will be forfeited. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply.
Anakin reserves the right to update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via your registered contact details with reasonable advance notice before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of any Anakin service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must cease using our services and may close your account.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Before initiating any formal proceedings, you agree to contact Anakin through our official support channels and allow us a reasonable period — no fewer than thirty (30) days — to resolve your complaint informally.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may refer the matter to the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of any Anakin service.
These Terms, together with any product-specific terms and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Anakin in relation to the subject matter herein and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Anakin’s failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of Anakin.
You may not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Anakin may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
